Monthly Club Meeting
Monday, April 20, 7:00pm
George McAllister will talk about Supportive Beekeeping. Supportive Beekeeping is a practical approach to colony management that uses dedicated resource colonies to keep honey-producing colonies in optimal condition throughout the year to maximize honey production.
Resource colonies can supply honey-producing hives with a wide range of resources as needed, including bees, brood, queens, food stores, pollen, and newly drawn comb. They can also be used to offset the effects of swarming, increase overall colony numbers, and improve winter survival.
