Volunteer Opportunities

The Catawba Valley Beekeepers Association of North Carolina is a community of beekeepers and bee enthusiasts who are passionate about bees and beekeeping. The club’s main mission is to promote the importance of bees and beekeeping through education and outreach in the community.

Throughout the year, the club actively participates in various outreach activities, dedicating our time to educating the local community about the invaluable contributions of the honey bee. We teach 4H students during their summer program about bees. At the end of our class the students visit a local bee yard.

The club has an exhibit each year at the Hickory American Legion Fair. Visitors can learn about the club and bees as well as see live bees in an observation hive. Looking for the queen is always popular with visitors.

Schools and other local organizations frequently invite club members to speak to their group about the importance of bees.

If you would like to be a club volunteer, fill out the form below and someone will contact you. If you have any questions email Todd Douglass, our president, at cvba-president@outlook.com
